This is the story of a prince named Luís, the second oldest of 11 siblings who grew up playing in the gardens of palaces like the one in Tapada de Mafra.
Luís was not meant to be king, but he became one.
What his childhood taught him and his deep love for nature made Luís a better king, more sensitive, and closer to the people he governed.
During his reign, significant events occurred that marked the history of his country: the abolition of the death penalty, the prohibition of slavery, the publication of the first Civil Code, and the creation of Caixa Geral de Depósitos. His upbringing made him a remarkable king and an exceptional father, as he also taught his children that knowing and loving nature can make us better people.
